Freedman HealthCare is an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and growing consultancy with a culture of teamwork, open communication, and meeting exacting standards.Job Summary:The Senior Data Engineer plays a crucial role in extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to drive informed decisions to improve healthcare quality, affordability, and equity. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and analytical frameworks. You play a lead role on cross-functional teams, including health policy experts, analysts, and healthcare stakeholders, to identify and address data-related challenges and opportunities.Duties/Responsibilities:Oversee development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows to collect, clean, and transform data from various sources into usable formatsEnsure data integrity, quality, and accuracy throughout the data processing lifecycleAnalyze and interpret healthcare claims data and related data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insightsGenerate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to non-technical stakeholdersDesign, develop, and maintain databases, data models, and schemas for efficient storage and retrieval of dataLead cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutionsStay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data analysis, engineering, and visualizationIdentify opportunities to improve data infrastructure, processes, and analytics capabilitiesRequired Skills/Abilities:Deep knowledge of health data, multi-payer databases, public healthcare payers, claims processing, and claims data analyticsDeep knowledge of US healthcare policy, trends, and factors such as eligibility, utilization, cost, and equityDeep knowledge of state government role in healthcareExpertise in data analysis and data visualization using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, or similar, and the ability to mentor othersExpertise in data profiling, manipulation, and transformation using tools like Pandas, SQL, SAS or similarMastery of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BIFamiliarity with data modeling, database management, and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Solid understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning conceptsExcellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to present complex findings in a clear and concise mannerEducation and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in healthcare administration, data science, statistics, or equivalent work experience preferred7+ years of experience in SQL7+ years of experience as a data analyst in the healthcare industry, preferably in claimsPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerNote:Vaccination for COVID-19 is required and FHC will consider accommodations for disability- and religious-based reasons.The job description provided above is a general outline and may be subject to modifications based on specific organizational requirements.Freedman HealthCare, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
