Our Data Engineering team enables trusted analytics, real-time insights, and emerging AI-driven experiences across the EverCommerce ecosystem.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Engineer II to help design and scale our modern data platform, supporting analytics, self-service BI, real-time use cases, and AI-powered insights. You’ll work closely with analytics engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality data that drives measurable business outcomes.This role is hands-on and impact-focused, ideal for someone who enjoys building Lakehouse-based platforms, enabling streaming data, and supporting AI and GenAI use cases in production.Responsibilities:Design, build, and operate scalable batch and streaming data pipelinesDevelop and orchestrate workflows using Apache AirflowImplement transformations and analytics-ready datasets using DBTBuild and maintain real-time pipelines using KafkaLeverage Databricks for data processing, analytics, and AI enablementSupport AI and GenAI use cases, including enabling high-quality data access for tools like Databricks GenieDesign and optimize data storage using Apache Iceberg and Lakehouse architectureIngest and manage data from diverse internal and external sources using FivetranHandle a wide variety of data structures (structured, semi-structured, and event-based data)Build and maintain a semantic layer that enables trusted reporting and self-service analyticsImplement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and unit test automation to ensure reliability at scalePartner with BI, product, and engineering teams to deliver data that is intuitive, trusted, and actionableOptimize performance, scalability, and cost across AWS services such as Athena, EC2, and related toolingContribute to data platform standards, documentation, and best practicesSkills and Qualifications needed for this role5+ years experience in a Data Engineering positionStrong experience with Python and SQLHands-on experience with Apache Airflow5Experience working with DatabricksExpertise using DBT for transformations and analytics modelingExperience building streaming data pipelines with KafkaExperience with data ingestion tools such as FivetranWorking knowledge of Apache Iceberg and modern Lakehouse architecturesExperience implementing data quality checks, testing frameworks, and pipeline observabilityFamiliarity with AWS services including Athena, EC2, and cloud-based data platformsStrong understanding of data modeling, analytics, and semantic layer designNice to HaveExperience enabling AI or GenAI use cases on top of analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks Genie)Experience delivering self-service BI solutions (e.g., ThoughtSpot)Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data catalogsExperience supporting SaaS or multi-product platformsFamiliarity with privacy, compliance, and secure data access patternsWhereThis is a fully remote, US based position with minimal to no travel required. You may be asked to travel up to 4 times per year for quarterly planning. The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely.
