For this role specifically, we are seeking individuals to help support high-impact, civic tech within the federal government.As an integral part of the program, the Senior Software Engineer designs and implements prototypes and/or proof-of-concepts for evaluating new or emerging technologies. Analyzes benefits and risks in implementing solutions using the new technologies. Provides development support with adoption of the new technologies within a project. The Software Engineer works closely with other teams to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience. Client Requirements: applicants MUST BE US Citizens and be able to obtain Public Trust clearanceResponsibilitiesDevelop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.May mentor and supervise software developers.RequirementsBachelors Degree5-8+ years of experience Software development experience using Java, JavaScript, Python, ReactJS, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, or related languagesKnowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. JavaScript)Knowledge of back-end languages (e.g. Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), web servers (e.g. nginx) and UI/UX designMust be able to get up-to-speed quickly on new projects and technologiesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsNice to Have SkillsPeople management experienceA background in PythonAn interest in DevOpsExperience with CI/CDExperience with AWSExperience with Docker/KubernetesSalary InformationWe are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $110k to $150k annually. Please note that this range is intended to provide a general idea of what to expect.
