Work alongside propulsion component designers to take hardware from initial drawings, to fabricated assemblies, to fully integrated onto our vehicles. Impulse Space is seeking hands-on engineers who want to work in a rapidly iterative production environment.  Responsibilities Own the build, assembly and testing of propulsion and vehicle control system componentsCreate assembly and test work instructions, as well as design fixtures and tooling to enable rate production Design, manufacture and maintain automated high pressure test equipmentLead creative changes to production process and hardware Collaborate and work closely with design engineers, build and test technicians, internal machine shops and external vendors to make parts that are designed for manufacturabilityResolve and analyze manufacturing and test discrepancies, while interfacing with the quality team (resolving issues for design, fabrication, and assembly)Support component testing such as proof and leak, fluid flow and functional checkouts, etc.  Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or physics 5+ years of experience manufacturing, building, testing, or troubleshooting hardware via professional work experience and/or project/research-based student experienceDemonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability and complex assembliesDemonstrated results with product or process improvementsHands-on experience with basic fabrication tools and processes (electric/pneumatic power tools, tube bending, machining, welding, etc.)Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working well in small teams Preferred Skills and Experience 8+ years' of manufacturing experience working directly with components or sub-assemblies in an aerospace environmentDemonstrated experience developing production processes from the ground up including driving design improvements for manufacturing Self-starter able to identify problems and implement solutions with limited supervisionExperience with instrumentation, data acquisition, and data reviewHands-on experience trouble-shooting, building and testing hardwareExtremely hands on.
