Full job description
Job Summary:

We’re looking for a Mid-Level Java/Angular Developer to join our team supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you’ll build and maintain modern applications that directly serve veterans and their families. You’ll work with Java, Angular, and accessibility tools to deliver secure, user-friendly, and Section 508-compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular
Build responsive, accessible user interfaces (Section 508 compliance)
Collaborate with designers, analysts, and testers in an Agile environment
Write and review clean, efficient, and scalable code
Participate in CI/CD, code reviews, and cloud-based deployments
Troubleshoot issues and ensure high application performance
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
3–5 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs
2+ years with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
Knowledge of Section 508 compliance & accessibility testing tools (JAWS, NVDA, Axe, WAVE, etc.)
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar)
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices (Git, Jenkins, Jira)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous VA or federal project experience
Cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, or VA Enterprise Cloud)
Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
Testing experience (JUnit, Jasmine, Selenium, Karma)
Compensation:

The salary is budgeted at $100,000-$120,000 annually, plus benefits. ThunderYard offers benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k matching, PTO, certification reimbursement and more.
