Job Description: Make a difference in a critical area of our business

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join a team of edge technology engineers to help design and develop critical features and capabilities for our platform. This role will enhance platform core services and will design and optimize functionalities for both FedRAMP Moderate(FRM) and FedRAMP High (FRH) environments. You will work on core features of Akamai's web, caching, and streaming distributed servers.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

Designing and developing optimal, scalable, complete, and robust software powering major online events like IPL
Working with programming languages such as C/C++ and Python/Perl
Investigating and analyzing the root cause of technical issues / performance bottlenecks
Developing and executing the strategy for evaluating potential performance and COGS initiatives
Maintaining, enhancing, and developing tools and automation frameworks

To be successful in this role you will:

Have 2+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
Demonstrate solid knowledge of automation frameworks, data structures, operating systems, computer networks, and internet technologies
Be proficient in at least one programming language (C, C++) and any scripting language (Python, Perl, Shell, etc.)
Have experience with Unix/Linux environments and solid debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for distributed systems
Be highly responsible, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a passion for learning and adopting new technologies
