You’ll set standards, mentor engineers, lead architecture reviews, and partner with Product to ship resilient services that scale. What You’ll Do Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support Clone Corp platform using Go Distributed Architecture: Contribute to the design and development of architecture, ensuring scalability and reliability Data Modeling: Design and implement data models and database schemas, with a focus on Postgres GCP Services: Utilize Google Cloud Platform services to build and deploy scalable and resilient infrastructure Containerization: Manage and deploy applications using Kubernetes for container orchestration Event-Driven Architecture: Implement event-driven systems using Redis pubsub and other technologies for real-time data processing Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize bottlenecks to ensure high system performance and responsiveness Security: Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality features Code Reviews: Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for system architecture, APIs, and best practices Qualifications 8+ years building production backends/APIs (lead or staff-level ownership on a SaaS platform). Hands-on expertise with: GCP, Postgres (incl. TimescaleDB), Apache Kafka, GraphQL, and Go (Golang). Strong experience with Python; TypeScript is a plus. Deep knowledge of distributed systems: async jobs, caching, eventing, schema/versioning, and data migration. Secure OAuth/OIDC (Google/Microsoft) and third-party APIs (Slack/Teams, Stripe, Twilio). Production-grade observability (metrics/logs/traces) and performance/capacity planning. Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud security fundamentals on GCP.
